Reading in Action
Mrs. Roskow's English II Pre-Engineering Class: they are reading about racism in the 20th Century and have built a wall with building blocks that are labeled with the reasons people wall themselves in or others out of their world.  Words like hate, fear, prejudice, bigotry, misunderstanding...and they are coming up with more every day.  It's turned into a great vocabulary builder, as well as a tool for understanding segregation and racism.
