The Mastery club is not for everyone. It is for students who are interested in achieving above and beyond the normal classroom expectations. There is no extra credit or grade assigned to these challenges, nor are there penalties for not participating. This club is for those who want to challenge themselves -- go the extra mile!
To become a member you must choose a topic from the list and learn about the topic on your own. Your parents are not allowed to give you the answer. You may go to the library and look up the answers or just click on the links featured on our web site. Record your answers in your Mastery Club notebook.
You will earn one star for each completed challenge. Once you earn at least 17 stars, you will be entered into the Mastery Club Hall of Fame.
Good luck and have fun!
***A Note to Parents and Students*** I have made every attempt to make sure the links are kid-friendly. However, remember the rules of safety on the Internet. Be sure to monitor your child as they are on the Internet. A good pop-up blocker and anti-virus software are highly recommended. Never click on any advertisements on the Web pages. Finally, always tell me if you see something that you think might be inappropriate.
A very special thanks goes to Mrs. Renz in Redmond, Oregon for initiating the Mastery Club and making such a wonderful tool available for teachers and students everywhere!
