What is DCT & OJT?

Diversified Career Technology (DCT)is a required class for all Lakewood Ranch students enrolled in the OJT program. This course is designed to provide students with specific employability skills, career issues, and leadership instruction. A directed study is included to increase knowledge of the specific careers in which the students are employed outside of school.

On-The-Job Training (OJT)is a four-way partnership between the student, parent, school and job site. This program is designed for students who have made a career path decision and are prepared to seriously pursue this path. Students must be concurrently enrolled in the DCT Principles course. Students must demonstrate basic employability skills before they can be considered for this program. Juniors & Seniors enrolling in the OJT program should be on track to graduate with their class.
