Every Friday, a weekly newsletter will be sent home along with our weekly reading fluency passage, our weekly reading comprehension paper, and math superstars (sunshine math) paper. These will be due one week later, on Friday or the last day of that upcoming week. The rest of your child's homework will be sent out on a nightly basis (Monday through Thursday evenings). Homework will include: spelling words and activities, reading activities, and math activities. Students will also be required to read at least 20 minutes every night independently or with a parent/guardian. The title of the book and the parents' signature is required each night in your child's agenda. Your child will have one grace night each week. If the title of the book or signature is missed more than once in a week, your child will miss recess. Any student, who does not turn their homework in on time, will be required to complete the assignment during recess. Homework for second graders should not take over 20 minutes to complete (not including 20 minutes of independent reading).
