Home Education allows parents/guardians to educate their child(ren) in the familiar environment of their own home.
Florida Statute 1002.41 requires that parents notify the District Superintendent of Schools in writing of an intent to initiate a Home Education Program. In order to register you will need to complete and mail in your Letter of Intent.
Upon receipt of your Letter of Intent, this office will send you a letter of notification that will provide you with documentation that your home Education program is registered with the district.
The parent/guardian is responsible for maintaining a portfolio of material and records for each registered child as well as furnishing the Superintendent of Schools with an annual educational evaluation of each child's academic progress. Any cost related to the Home Education Program for the evaluation is the responsibility of the parent or guardian.
If a parent should decide to discontinue Home Education a letter of Termination is required.
