MTI Chapter Health Occupations Students of America

MTI Dental Assisting Students participate in Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), the Career and Technical Student Organization for health science students.

MTI's HOSA Chapter has participated in many community service activities including those benefiting HOPE Family Services of Manatee County, the American Cancer Society, and the Alzheimer's Association. This year the National HOSA service projects is focused on assisting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

HOSA is a national student organization endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Technology Education Division of ACTE. HOSA's two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people.

MTI HOSA Emphasises Professionalism

MTI's Dental Assisting Program is Nationally Recognized

The mission of the MTI HOSA chapter is to foster professionalism in all MTI Health Careers Students. MTI HOSA encourages participation in professional organizations, community volunteerism, and personal enhancement through continuing education.

Each year since the creation of MTI's HOSA Chapter in 2001, MTI Dental Assisting students have placed in the top ten in the nation in Competitive Events during the HOSA National Leadership Conference. MTI dental assisting students have won first place national gold medals three times in both Dental Assisting Skills and Dental Terminology in the past 5 years. In June MTI Dental Assisting students will continue to demonstrate their superior training by competing in various Dental Assisting Skills and Leadership Events during the HOSA National Leadership Conference.
