Accounting I

Accounting is the planning, recording, analyzing, and interpreting of financial information--it is the unique language of business. Whether you plan on being a business major in college, start your own business, or work in a business office when you graduate, this course is a must for you. All college business degrees will require you to take accounting. This class will teach you basic accounting practices on paper and on the computer thus laying a background for advanced studies of accounting in college or preparing you for that first real job.

Accounting Applications II

Prequisite: Accounting Applications I

This course reviews and then further expands the accounting procedures learned in Accounting Applications I. Partnerships, corporations, and financial management are covered. You will also learn automated accounting on computers to simulate an actual accounting cycle. This course is geared toward the serious accounting student and good attendance is mandatory.

Accounting Applications III & IV

Prerequisite: Accounting Applications I & II

These advanced levels are for the student intent on pursuing a career in business or accounting. These courses further expand the accounting procedures learned in Accounting Applications I & II. Various aspects of accounting, including accounting control systems, accounting adjustments, management and cost accounting, and not-for-profit accounting are explored. Simulation accounting packets are used to further automated accounting skills.

Computing for College and Careers

Are you prepared for the technology world we live in? What does your future have in store for you? Whether it is college or work, being able to touch keyboard (without looking) will help you be successful in whatever you decide to become. Career exploration, working with digital pictures, formatting letters, and memos, using the Internet and creating presentations on the computer are some of the bonuses you will experience. This course is fun, provides for individual creativity, and will teach you "how to" use word processing, spreadsheet, computer slide shows, and database software.
